Anugerah Belia Cemerlang MENDAKI – 2024


Introduction
 
Anugerah Belia Cemerlang MENDAKI aims to inspire the community towards embracing lifelong learning and support youths in their quest to attain various peaks of excellence. This award was formerly known as the Goh Chok Tong Youth Promise Award (GCTYPA).

 

Objectives

 

  1. To help Muslim youths with potential in diverse fields beyond traditional academic areas to further develop themselves and realise their potential;
  2. To support adult learners to complete their post-secondary education and acquisition of new skills;
  3. To provide inspiration to the community by identifying and recognising Muslim youths who can be role models in the community.

Eligibility Criteria

 

(A) Anugerah Belia Cemerlang MENDAKI (Overseas & Local) – 2024

 

  1. Muslim Singapore Citizens (regardless of race) or Permanent Residents who have been residing in Singapore for at least 5 years immediately before being admitted to the institution, between 18 and 35 years of age;
  2. Enrolled in the course of study beyond traditional academic areas, such as in the domains of culinary, sports, music, design, and creative industries; performing and visual arts. The Award will also consider nominees who display multi-disciplinary in their fields of study, combining the above-mentioned fields with Information and Communications Technology;
  3. Persons with high integrity and moral character;
  4. Nominated by organisation, body or agency;
  5. Accepted full-time into institutions either locally or overseas to pursue the approved course of study, apprenticeship and skills, or talent development opportunities in the field of interest.

 

(B) Anugerah Belia Cemerlang MENDAKI (Study) – 2024

 

  1. Muslim Singapore Citizens or Muslim Permanent Resident of Singapore (regardless of race), between 20 and 35 years of age, who has been residing in Singapore for at least 5 years immediately before being admitted to the institution;
  2. Enrolled in a course of study leading to formal qualification i.e. NITEC, Diploma, National Examinations (GCE ‘O’, GCE ‘N’, GCE ‘A’);
  3. Persons with good character;
  4. Nominated by national/community agencies;
  5. Accepted into local institutions.

 

Conditions

  1. Candidates will only be considered upon receipt of all the fully-completed required documents from the applicants;
  2. Interviews will be held for shortlisted candidates, and being eligible does not guarantee a placement;
  3. Shortlisting of candidates is based upon competition among the eligible applicants and the institution must have accepted them.

Mandatory documents required to submit application

  1. Front and Back Copy of NRIC;
  2. Recent Academic Results;
  3. Letter of Acceptance from Current Institution;
  4. Family Members’ Particulars Form (Please download the form here: Family Members’ Particulars Form 2024);
  5. In 150 words, share your achievements & your goals in the next 5 & 10 yrs in MS Word Format;
  6. Letter of Nomination / Recommendation (with a letterhead) duly signed by the nominating person/organisation/body/agency (a brief write-up that highlights the achievements of the nominee);
  7. Testimonial (with a letterhead) or verification of volunteering experience by the organization.


Application Procedure

 

  • Application is by nomination;
  • First time applicants must create an account to be able to proceed with the application;
  • All nominations must include testimonials of past achievements and supporting documents;
  • Third party recommendations to vouch for the applicant’s character and integrity must be provided;
  • Yayasan MENDAKI reserves the right to reject incomplete and duplicate applications. Applications that do not meet the eligibility criteria will be rejected;
  • Decisions by the Selection Committee are final and not subject to further review or appeal;
  • We will be in touch with you within 6 to 8 weeks upon closure of the application window; *
