MENDAKI–Merchant Scholarship 2024
Introduction
Introduced in 2024, the scholarship intends to reward deserving Malay/Muslim students who have achieved good academic results to pursue or continue their full-time academic studies in the local polytechnics in Singapore.
Objective
The objective of the scholarship is to encourage students who are pursuing a full-time diploma in engineering-related courses, to continue to do well in their studies at the local polytechnics.

Eligibility
- Singapore citizen holding a valid National Registration Identity Card
(NRIC) or Permanent Resident (PR) of Singapore;
- Malay/Muslim;
- Exemplifies good character moral excellence befitting of a good Muslim;
- Achieved outstanding results in his/her academic studies and is pursuing/will pursue full time education in any of the 5 local Polytechnics mentioned below:
- Ngee Ann Polytechnic
- Singapore Polytechnic
- Nanyang Polytechnic
- Republic Polytechnic
- Temasek Polytechnic;
- Not in receipt of any other scholarships.
Conditions
- Applications will only be considered upon receipt of all fully completed required documents.
- Applicant has been accepted by any of the local Polytechnics.
- Shortlisting of candidates is based upon competition amongst the eligible applicants, and acceptance into the institution.
- Interviews will be held for shortlisted candidates and being eligible does not guarantee a placement.
- Each Scholarship is applicable for one (1) Academic Year.
- The Scholarship shall be used for the recipients’ educational expenses such as tuition fees, course materials, living expenses and fees for other educational activities organised by the institution the Recipient is enrolled in.
- Recipient must re-apply to be considered for the Scholarship in the following academic year, subject to meeting all the criteria.

- Recent Academic Results
- Letter of acceptance from Institution (if any)

- Income Declaration Form * For self-employed and unemployed family members. (Please download the form here: Income-Declaration-Form-for-Scholarship / Bursary 2024)
- Parents or Guardian Latest Payslip / Letter from Employer Confirming Latest CPF statement
- Short write up on your exemplary conduct and strong leadership qualities as demonstrated in co-curricular activities, endorsed by school / institution personnel
- In 150 words, share your achievements & your goals in the next 5 & 10 yrs in MS Word Format.
- Other supporting Documents (if any)
Application Procedure
- First time applicants must create an account to be able to proceed with the application.
- Please submit ONE bursary / scholarship application only. We will consider your application for other eligible schemes accordingly.
- Eligibility to apply for the bursary/scholarship does not guarantee any award of the bursary/scholarship.
- Yayasan MENDAKI reserves the right to reject incomplete and duplicate applications.
- Yayasan MENDAKI’s decision on the outcome of all applications shall be final and not subject to further review or appeal.
