MENDAKI-Bitsmedia Scholarship – University 2024
Introduction
The scheme was introduced in April 2022. It is to support and encourage deserving Muslim students from financially disadvantaged families who are enrolled in any of the 6 autonomous universities in Singapore studying in the fields related to Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Software Engineering to excel in their studies.

Eligibility Criteria
- Muslim Singapore Citizen holding a valid National Registration Identity Card (NRIC) or permanent resident (PR) of Singapore;
- Have obtained full time admission to a degree programme in Singapore in the fields related to Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Software Engineering offered by any of the following autonomous Universities;

- National University Singapore (NUS);
- Nanyang Technology University (NTU);
- Singapore Management University (SMU);
- Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT);
- Singapore University of Technology & Design (SUTD); and
- Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS)
- Has achieved outstanding results in his/her academic studies (GCE ‘A’ Level, International Baccalaureate, Polytechnic Diploma or NUS High diploma);
- Not in receipt of any other scholarships.
Conditions
- Preference shall be given to applicants who are willing to undertake an internship with Bitsmedia (if an external internship is part of their course curriculum).
- Bitsmedia shall give priority to the beneficiaries of this scholarships in selecting Interns for its internship programme.
- Applications will only be considered upon receipt of all fully completed required documents;
- Applicant must be accepted by the local institutions mentioned in clause No.3 above;
- Shortlisting of candidates is based upon competition amongst the eligible applicants;
- Interviews may be held for shortlisted candidates;
- Each scholarship is applicable for one academic year only;
- The scholarship shall be used for the recipients’ educational expenses such as tuition fees, course materials, living expenses and fees for other educational activities organised by the institution the recipient is enrolled in;
- Applicants must re-apply to be considered for the scholarship in the following academic year, subject to meeting all the criteria.

Mandatory documents required to submit application
- Identification of applicant – Front and Back Copy of NRIC.
- Latest Academic Results of applicant clearly showing:

- Full name;
- Course of study;
- Year
- Grades, Ranking Points & cGPA where applicable;
- For first year students in ITE, Polytechnic or Universities, please provide official proof of admission into institution of study. Those who do not currently have this can and must provide later nearing the admission of school date preferably before closure of application window to be submitted via the portal;
- Family Members’ Particulars Form duly completed and signed. Please download the form here: Family Members’ Particulars Form 2024;
- Employed adults in the household (except for National Servicemen):

- Please provide latest Payslip OR
- Letter from Employer confirming latest pay;
- Unemployed adults in the household:

- Please provide latest CPF Contribution Statement OR
- The Income Declaration Form. Please download the form here: Income-Declaration-Form-for-Scholarship / Bursary 2024;
- Self-employed adults in the household:

- Please provide latest IRAS Notification of Assessment;
- Please provide in 150 words, your achievements & your goals in the next 5 & 10 years in MS Word Format;
- Other supporting Documents if any.
Application Procedure
- First time applicants must create an account to be able to proceed with the application.
- Please submit ONE scholarship application only. We will consider your application for other eligible schemes accordingly.
- Eligibility to apply for the scholarship does not guarantee any award of the scholarship.
- Yayasan MENDAKI reserves the right to reject incomplete and duplicate applications.
- Yayasan MENDAKI’s decision on the outcome of all applications shall be final and not subject to further review or appeal.
- We will be in touch with you within 6 to 8 weeks upon closure of the application window. *
